From Geelong to Global and Back: My Journey in Physiotherapy

Growing up in Geelong, my passion for movement and sport was born on the sidelines of local football games and on the tracks of our vibrant athletic community. This lifelong love for staying active led me on a journey that has taken me from the familiar streets of my hometown to the bustling cities of Brisbane, Melbourne, and Adelaide, and back again.

My academic career began at Deakin University, where I completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science with Honours. This foundational degree gave me a deep understanding of the human body’s incredible mechanics and its capacity for performance. Driven to apply this knowledge in a hands-on way, I pursued my Doctor of Physiotherapy at the esteemed University of Melbourne, where I honed my clinical skills and developed a patient-first approach to care.

Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients—from dedicated weekend warriors to elite professional and semi-professional athletes. These experiences, across various clinical and sporting environments, have solidified my belief in one core principle: successful rehabilitation is an active, long-term partnership.

I’ve seen firsthand how a passive approach to recovery—relying solely on short-term fixes—often leads to a cycle of recurring injuries. This is why my philosophy is centered on an active-based approach. I combine the immediate relief of manual therapies like massage and dry needling with the sustainable, long-lasting power of active therapies, such as corrective exercises. The goal isn’t just to treat the pain; it’s to equip you with the knowledge and tools to prevent it from coming back.

My commitment is to empower you to take control of your recovery and rebuild your body’s resilience. I am passionate about guiding clients not just back to their pre-injury state, but to a place of greater strength, confidence, and durability. Ultimately, my greatest reward is helping you return to the activities you love, whether that’s running a marathon, playing with your kids, or simply enjoying a walk around the beautiful Geelong waterfront.

I’m proud to be back in my hometown, bringing my diverse experience and passion for active-based rehabilitation to our community. I look forward to working with you to achieve your health and wellness goals, one active step at a time.
